To Travel is To Live - Day 4

¡Saludos desde el desierto!

Day 4

I returned back to CDMX from my balloon trip feeling unwell. I took a nap and awoke to a really sour stomach which kept me up all night and I suffered into the next day. Sadly, I lost a day of excursions, but the day in bed gave me all of the rest that I needed to head back out on Thursday to Tolantongo.

If you’ve been following me on my adventures through the wilderness, you already know how much I love aguas termales (hot springs). Hands down, Grutas Tolantongo has been my favorite, even more than the Blue Lagoon in Iceland (which was also incredible)!

This place has it all—Cascadas (waterfalls), underground grutas (grottos), and dozens of ice blue pools spilling down the face of a mountainside. The views were incredible, and the water temperatures were perfect. I will come back to Mexico City just to make the 4-hour trip to Tolantongo again. Next time, I will stay in the resort overnight so that I can have two full days in the pools. I’m even considering hosting a Janzu retreat there one day.

Stay tuned tomorrow for details from the rest of my trip to Mexico City.

With Love,

Jennifer
