Janzu is an aquatic bodywork practice that invites you to release control, soften tension, and enter a profound state of rest/digest. Held and moved rhythmically through warm water, your body remembers what safety feels like. This practice gently supports the parasympathetic nervous system, quiets mental chatter, and restores a sense of inner balance.

Originally developed in Amatlán, Mexico, Janzu blends elements of meditation, somatic therapy, and hydrotherapy. Each session is guided with intuitive movement and mindful breathwork, allowing the water to become both mirror and medicine. It’s a practice of returning—of being carried rather than striving.

What to Expect as a Janzu “Baby”

  • A one-on-one aquatic session guided by a trained Janzu “Mother” (practitioner)

  • Warm, body-temperature water to support deep relaxation

  • Breath awareness and rhythmic floating movements (utilizing specialized floaties)

  • A safe, trauma-informed space that honors your pace and boundaries

  • A gradual re-entry and integration moment with your Janzu Mother
