Greetings from the wilderness!

I’m in the final packing stage for my trip down to Mexico City (CDMX) on Sunday. I’ll be spending most of July in CDMX exploring the most populous city in North America and participating in an in-depth Janzu facilitator training at the Casa de Artes Acuáticas. I’m really looking forward to visiting this important cultural center and exploring the surrounding wonders, including a hot air balloon ride over the pyramids of Teotihuacán and soaking in the grutas of Tolantongo.

I’m excited to be heading back to Mexico, not only because this is my first time back in CDMX since I lived there as a child, but also because I’m ready to fly solo again for a little while—ready to go on another adventure with the Lord. I’m excited to be back on the road for a month.

As much as I cherish all the alone time with God that I get to have on these international adventures, I also crave community, sharing my life with other brave women who are living their lives boldly with Jesus.

It’s no wonder that I am drawn to the lifestyle and wisdom of the Beguines, deeply spiritual women who dared to live lives set apart from the norms of their time. They weren’t nuns. They didn’t take vows. They were “out of the box” thinkers who loved Jesus, and they didn’t wait for anyone’s permission to live a life of radical intimacy with God. 

Radical intimacy with God.

At its heart, that is the Loto lifestyle—making space for rest, ritual, creativity, and communion. Living in a rhythm of life that is rooted in contemplative practices and radical connection. Experiencing the mystery of God through deep intimacy and trust. Living in the world and not of it. Finding freedom in Jesus.

I’ve been doing a lot of research on the Desert Mothers and the Beguines, all remarkable women of God, and the mystical traditions they birthed. I’ve created a new blog series that highlights some of my favorite female mystics. Throughout the rest of the summer, be on the lookout for new blog content and a devotional offering to dig deeper into the spiritual truths their lives embodied.

I pray this journey of discovery will open your eyes to the power of women seeking God through radical intimacy, and that you, too, will be forever inspired and changed by their boldness. Enjoy. I’ve posted links below 👇
